All things being equal, I would probably have opened today, at least for half the day. But this has been such a killer cold bug, I'm going to take another day off.

Besides, my goal next year -- err, this year -- won't be on increasing gross sales, but on profits. This is a good precedent for me. Trying to artificially boost sales is exactly the wrong start.

NBC continues their extremely shortsighted policy of running an annoying promo in the bottom left corner of their shows. What's to keep them from running another one on the other side, or on all the corners, or permanently along the bottom? Or constant streaming? It was bad enough to some completely mood shattering promo would pop up in the middle of drama, but now they're leaving it there permanently?

Bad enough that they're doing it on T.V., but advertisers are becoming worse at the movies and dvd's as well.

The more they chase us, the more we run away.

"The more they chase us, the more we run away."

Desperation, it's the world's
worst cologne.

Hope you get better soon.

I thought I was the only one annoyed with all the extra crap that networks are putting on the screen. Like when the news channels have about 3 or 4 lines of text at the bottom of the screen. Something important like breaking news. Then they pan something and you can't see what it is they are showing because the words are blocking the picture. The commercials are over the top. I have started watching public tv regardless of what is on just to get away from the commercials. And what is really irritating is when they start the commercial with music that is about 10db higher than the volume that you set.
