This and that and this....

I've probably got this whole stock contrarian thing down wrong. But I don't see the issue as there being more bulls than bears, but that everyone DOUBTS the wisdom of such a thing. As long as there is always someone pointing this out, as long as there are articles doubting, I think we're still in the contrarian phase.

After I wrote the above, I found the following on Huffington Post.

STOCKS SURGE -- AND MAIN STREET REALLY DOESN'T BELIEVE THIS RALLY.

"After being key players in bull runs of the past, small-time investors have not only stopped buying, they're selling. The question for the new year: If the man on the street doesn't jump back in, will stocks continue to defy gravity?

So far, the market's comeback is almost entirely due to buying by professional investors at hedge funds, pension funds, banks and other institutions.

"We've never seen this before – such a huge rally, and the little guy is out,"

**********

This: Anyone notice the Kohl's job seekers were being offered; "part-time cashiers, merchandise stockers, sales associates, customer service representatives, truck unloaders and others." ?

"....part-time"

"...part-time" everything?

**********

Advice on windfalls. Did my research, and everyone advised waiting 6 months before making any decisions.

Well, guess what? You CAN'T do anything for six months, even if you wanted to. It takes months and months of back and forth to get it all ironed out, and this was for a 'trust' situation, instead of 'probate.' We sold Lois's house in a Weekend (well, it took a couple of months to prepare for the big opening day...) but the paperwork is going to take a month, minimum.

Just saying....

Good thing, though. There was a roller-coaster of emotion and thinking and questioning at first, but that's all settled down now. Ultimately, not much change. Just a sort of security in the background we didn't have before.

This stock market surge can be likened to the Bend RE surge.

Ok, so the DOW is now exactly where it was in 1998, before the big TECH-BUBBLE. For those on average who have PLAYED the BIG-CON for the past decade they would have got a net-zero return less transactional cost.

On the other hand had you simply bet against the dollar you could have made a great consistent return since the 1970's.

What kind of fucking more buys US stock? The same kind of moron that bought BEND RE 2004-2006.

Now main-street doesn't give a fuck, cuz it ain't got a nickel in this game, on the other hand wall street has run out of suckers for a generation,... the old canard that stocks only go UP, ... well now even the average Bend Moron knows it simply ain't true.

There are still trillions of dollars of PENSION money with NO-WHERE to go, ... so the stock market keeps breathing,... now that post 2006 the baby boomers will continue to cash-out, and certainly the kids aren't playing the fucking game.

The future is fucked.

Long live main street, FUCK WALL STREET.

I really would like others to comment on how fucked up our nation is ... Also DUNC what about the suicides that AVATAR is causing? ... Do you have "V for Vendetta" as graphic-literature?

...

A few weeks ago Al-Queda ( the "CIA BASE" in persian ), wiped out a 1/2 dozen top CIA officers, ...

A few years ago there was the shoe bomber, a stooge

Now the undy-bomber a guy that tried to ignite his soiled undies, ...

So there are two al-queda's, .. we're led to believe one that is a silly joke, that doesn't accomplish much, that creates a lot of legal theater and eventually these men will become political prisoners, ...

On the other hand the 'real al-queda' wipes out 1/2 dozen of the highest CIA officers in the world, in one of the worlds must most controlled environments.

What did the PUG's talk about? Why the UNDY bomber, .. certainly not the real al-queda that just set back US colonialism about 10 years.

Now we got the KISS, where some chink kisses his sweety and US shuts down an airport, OSAMA-BIN-LADEN must be laughing his ass off, for the US government is again spending 100's millions for every DOLLAR al-queda spends.

Fascinating times we live in,

Remember anyone who tells you he's an old CIA man is either a liar or a traitor.

That's pretty funny. According to CNN people are saying they feel suicidal after watching "Avatar" because our world is so shitty compared to the world of Pandora (although it didn't say anything about actual suicides yet).

My favorite comment on the topic:

"All I have to say to those people is GET OUT of your mama's basement, lose 100 lbs, and get a job. Seriously? It's a sci-fi movie with a plot about as deep as a wading pool. It's a very stylized, beautifully made movie...but it's a movie. Of course it's not tangible! The blasted mineral they are mining is even called 'unobtainium'. Big clue there."

"BilboBend"

I assume this is a take on Bilbo Baggins, right?

Are you one of the guys behind "The Shire" subdivision? You know, from Lord of the Rings?

People are suicidal not because 'Pandora' is beautiful, but because the HUMAN-RACE are LOCUST that destroy the know-universe in their conquest for manifest-destiny. US militarism, burn, bomb, and kill. 'Avatar' tells a very old story, about good and bad. Yes, its ONLY a story.

In China 'Avatar' is a hit, because the little people see the bad as developers and the good as the people losing their farms to developers.

Cameron was good in making this movie all things to all people, of the world.

But there is no fucking doubt that here in the USA, that the bad US-CORPORATISM/MILITARISM, and the good is the victims of US-GREED.

Fear not Bend is ground-zero with aerial bio-encapsulated sterilization programs for third world country's, in a few generations there maybe nobody to kill so the spawn of US industrialism can sleep in peace. Israel licensed the technology last year, ... Everything is going according to plan.

And they have a thousand applications for those part-time jobs.

Sucks to live in a Third World country, doesn't it?

Bilbo, you say a lot of things I can agree with but then you go and ruin it by spouting tinfoil-hat shit like this.

It's the story of the powerful fucking the powerless. Oldest story in the history of the species.

Jebus H Christ HBM, if you found Bruce arm up your ass with a 'checkmate'(tm) you wouldn't know what the fuck it mean. Nobody ever accused you of being and 'real' Urnalist, and this is probably a good thing.

Next time your hankering for an enema google Stewert Resnick, and learn about who really owns Bend, and its water, and who really lobbied for Juniper-Ridge to get Suterra out there and off of public water and on to a well so nobody would have a fucking clue about their production.

I remember when I was in the military back 40+ years ago they used to tell us ... "That USA is just a third world country with nukes",

Nope, nuttin new under the sun.
