"No Snow."

Uh....Bulletin?

"No Snow?"

Nice timing....

**********

Local Real Estate Blog yesterday trumpeted that home prices had gone "up". No...prices are going down, but the prices of the houses that sold happened to be more than the prices of the month before. Two different things. One is reality, the other is happenstance.

++++++++++

"Enterprise Zone Lured Facebook." Whenever I hear the words, "enterprise zone" I think: we gave it to them.

Actually, I'm not against this process, I just wonder how it pencils out.

**********

A destination resort bites the dust. (Though I noticed from the picture, they still seem to be watering the incomplete golf course...)

Remington Ranch. I love the subtitle: "Developers remain committed to building resort..."

Uh. Right. Good idea.

**********

Missing from the discussion of the Urban Growth Boundary are any realistic estimates of whether the population of Bend is currently increasing or decreasing, and if increasing, by how much? And for how long? Or can we look forward to explosive growth again? Or is there going to be a long lull?

Apparently, the city is still in denial. It still thinks it NEEDS more space.

Oh, well. What's a few million dollars here or there...

**********

I've loved the "fracas" on Conan and Letterman. But when it's over, I'll probably stop watching again. Meanwhile, I'm hoping that the new show Caprica will be at least half as good as Battlestar Galactica... This year has been pretty lean on good shows. The Good Wife has been good; though it's the type of evening soap opera I don't usually watch. Castle and Mentalist always have a couple a good 'moments', though the rest of the shows are pretty average. CSI L. V. is still good, but not as great as it once was.

Just can't get into NCIS and Bones or which the rest of my family seems to love.

I've given Fringe second and third chances, and it still bores me. It just doesn't have the wit and humor and depth of X-Files. Everyone points to the crazy dad as being interesting, but his craziness just isn't believable to me. It's Hollywood crazy, whatever crazy it needs to make the plot work.

I watch no reality shows or situation comedies. The Oberdoferman has become insufferable; and Rachel has gotten a little too politically correct. Thank god for the Daily Show.

Yet COAR insists we need to build more and more and more of these "resorts."

Central Oregon "destination resorts" (and I'm talking here not about real resorts like Sunriver and Black Butte Ranch, where substantial numbers of people actually vacation, but about developments that are essentially just gated golf course communities) are based on the premise that there are hundreds or thousands of multimillionaires and billionaires out there who are just DYING to own a second or third or fourth home here because it's so gol-darn special. There aren't, and it ain't.

FaceBook what a fucking joke, I mean these poor morons writing their own dossier, and have no fucking idea that all this shit will never be deleted. Run folks don't walk from facebook, but coming to Bend? All I can say is yes homer, but is a very special place for Nazi's. Sig-Hiel Suttera... Come Nazi's world-wide come to Bend, and bring us your dead. We have a resting place for anybody who is willing to PIMP his mother and grandmother and sister. This is Bend, the Land of Fraud. Where every Grifter is special.

I think there will be many more sycophants coming to our 'enterprise zone' the harder up a desperate parasite is, the more likely it is to give away what's it doesn't belong to others.

On the subject of UGB, all I can say is for the millions spent by city-morons ( electables ), that they NEVER had a clue about LCDC, or SB-100 ( 1972 ), not a fucking clue about the process, just figured they could draw NEW PENCIL lines around the city and MAGIC property values for worthless desert land surrounding shit-hole aka Bend-Fucked(TM) would go up.

Imagine that, the State won't rubber-stamp Bend's ejaculation. Who could have guessed? I think there were 2-3 years of city-council meetings I sat through listening to soccer-moms beg to have their hobby-farm included in the recent UGB expansion. Just brings fucking tears to my eyes.

It's just a server farm, Bilbo. I'm pretty sure they won't be manufacturing chemical/biological weapons there.

"Imagine that, the State won't rubber-stamp Bend's ejaculation. Who could have guessed?"

Pretty much everybody except the city council, COAR and COBA.

Server Farms are just the start HBM, shortly after they open the server-hotel they'll be using electricity. eeeeeek!

Wow 'server-farms' I remember about 15 years in PDX city hall got all excited about this new enterprise, ... except when everybody found out that nobody works at a server-farm, ... hey but go ahead hand out those 'tax incentives', besides nobody else is going to CUM to the PNW except those in search of cheap hydro-electricity, another fucking subsidy for the rich, at mercy of the environment.

Pencil's just fine,

15 year exemption on local property tax, and 10 year exemption and ALL state tax.

So you have the second most successful business these days CUM-ing to Orygun, for subsidized electricity, and tax exemption. WHO fucking pay's, OH they promise 35 jobs, but lets remember that most this shit is done remotely. You pretty much know that 50% of staff will be janitorial/security.

A server farm is basically a bunch of electric heaters. The cooling system is our old friend 'cheap underground water'. Evaporative cooling needs low humidity, ergo Priny.

So they get tons of 'free water', CCC subsidized electricity, and pay no tax unlike the 'rest of us', and oh yeah, they don't even contribute to Orygun state tax. What is the fucking point?

My favorite is that Judge 'DRED' McCabe of Priny, is running it all the same hangin judge-team that put through the LesSchwab deal, and all the tri-county land deals. It's so much fun to watch the judges of "Crook Country' run the real estate concession. It really is a plantation-colony in central-orygun.

Relatively cheap power and a limitless supply of free cold air (to keep the servers cool) were the big attractions here for Facebook. That and the $2.8-million-a-year subsidy.

The 'server-farm' is an evaporative cooling system.

Essentially servers are heaters. The PNW electricity is almost free.

The water is free, stolen from underground, just like SUTERRA is going to do in the new dig's and off the records for everybody. In The Dalles you be on city-water.

Ok, so you have these heaters and you run water through the system and out comes HOT-WATER, you spray the water so it cools, but you need a 'dry' environment, so you don't create a 'sauna'. Priny looks good its DRY, in fact as you all know Priny is central orygun and has some of the best star-gazing in the country, cuz of low-humidity.

So the water evaporates and cools and then is sent back through the system, a cheap way to cool, and ORYGUN is perfect, dry, free-water, cheap-power.

A real NAZI heaven.
