Apparently, my subconscious has been itching to go on the second book. "Gargoyle in Love." (thanks, Bruce.)
This is the part of writing I really like -- the inventing, discovering, first draft part.
I've spent a couple afternoons in the high desert, and I've got this idea of making the basin just beyond Horse Ridge into a mini-Area 51. (My book involves aliens.)
Didn't the D.O.D. have some program out there? Radar? Something like that?
And hasn't there been talk of a experimental site in central Oregon for drones?
Anyway, it's fiction, so I'm making it so...

Are you thinking of the over-the-horizon radar setup out in Christmas Valley?
I don't think there has been any finalization on drone test areas in CO. I doubt if the would be Prohibited air zones, maybe restricted at certain times by NOTAMs.

Actually, I would know of since Restricted airspace (e.g Military airspace) and Prohibited airspace(e.g.over the White House)must be shown on all air navigation maps so we can avoid them.
cause they would never lie about mini-Area 51.
you could also perpetuate the myth that the military site off Dodds road has a lavatube underneath it that runs all the way to the Redmond Airport... hmm... maybe this has something to do with that UFO flap in Redmond so many decades ago... :)
