This and that and this

Was talking to a good friend who is involved in the administration part of government and he had some pretty good arguments against measures 66 and 67.

"Yeah," I said, " but the argument was framed "if the poor little corporations are taxed it will....."

Defending Corporations is a losing argument, right now, and it's no ones fault but big business. Unions don't happen to be the big bad boogeyman, right now.

I really don't want to get into an argument about the merits of the measure, but just to measure the public anger.

Wonder what would happen if there was a national referendum on universal healthcare and banking reform.....

Wow. KTVZ gave up the names of anonymous posters on the Tami Sawyer stories?

That's scary, 1.) because Tami would do such a thing and what she could do with that knowledge.
2.) that KTVZ actually had the names of anonymous posters.
3.) that KTVZ would wuss out so quietly and quickly.

Woke up with a fiction story in mind last week, quickly wrote it out, really liked it.

First 3 people who read it, completely misunderstood what was happening.

I set it aside and then read it at Farewell Bend Writer's Group last night -- and immediately realized that it was unclear and why. I don't know why, but I find the writer's groups criticisms are pretty close to the mark, even when it's my material they're commenting on. Even the act of reading it out loud to others, will usually improve the story.

Re-writing it will be twice as hard -- ten times harder -- than the original burst of inspiration. I enjoy that first part of the creative process, (a quick flow of story and characters and action) and I'm better at it now than I used to be, but trying to make it publish worthy always reminds me that writing is hard work.

I think I'll probably finish it, because it's more or less a complete short story, and eventually post it on my writing site.

The Bulletin editorializes that the state ought to pay for Bend's appeal of the UGB.

To which I say,

"Huh?"

yep, no reason to ever write anything on a computer and assume your 'anonymASS',

Any court or lawyer can get anytime anything, as ALL internet providers are required to log everything by law ( patriot-act ). Most providers will never hesitate to provide anyone who asks for data.

Once its in the complaint and deposition, its public and the paper has the right to publish ALL pubic record.

Any anonymous out there should know they need to know how to use TOR or equivalent if they really want to be an anonymASS.

That said most SAWYER gossip took place on the TV blogsite, and they always had all IP's logged, so it was always quite easy. Just like bashing the SORE on the SORE, they all know well who the basher's are...

The use of 'anonymous' shouldn't really even be used anymore, it should really be 'thinly-shrouded'. Real anonymous use of internet is damn hard and law enforcement tools these days can 'discover' anything anywhere.

Ok, I'll write about 66&67, they both bore the shit out of me.

Ok 66, so we take DBA from $10 to $150 and who does that hurt? The CORP that has one? Or the Summit-1031 that has 1500 registered state-llc's, think about that, at $15000 before it would be $200k thereafter, and that's who this really hurts is all our coveted night-shade salespeople.

The real CORP can give a rats ass if they're paying $10 or $150 for a state registered DBA. Yep, I got 1/2 dozen myself, and if it goes to $150, five of em will be put to death.

On 67 all I can say is why so fucking selfish? As somebody who has NEVER paid myself ( from my corporation ) over $60k in my life, .. I can say only a fucking TAX IDIOT pay's himself over $60k (SSN threshold used to be),

So what 67 is a fuck-you to lawyers, doctors and dentists, e.g. professionals that don't have the CPA to keep them from paying taxes. So we boost the defn of RICH from $250k ot $150k.. still out of the reach of +90% of Bend Plantation field niggers.

What's the fucking solution? Well I'm a big advocate post 1970 here in ORYGUN, if you can't beat em join, ... em... trouble is PERS is bankrupt and all the GDP of OREGON can't pay the obligation. So the HOUSE-NIGGERS ( government class ) has given tax-exemption to the plantation owners ( schwab, suterra, facebook ), and now can only FUCK the field niggers, trouble is the house-of-cards the house-niggers (cops,judges,city-workers) is a FRAUD.

Most of Oryguns house niggers and field niggers don't make over $150k, so fucking what. The plantation owners don't even fucking live here, they just farm this shit-hole.

It's tough to be a house-nigger feeding these days at the government pig trough, but its the ONLY game in town if you want a pension and good pay.

The future ain't pretty, and NOTHING is going to contain the fraud, for its ALL going down and hard.

Maybe, "Huh?" isn't enough.

Talk about your 'moral jeopardy.'

Logically, ANY and ALL rulings that don't go in your favor would immediately be challenged -- if there is no cost.

It's the equivalent of saying, you don't ever pay for a lawsuit whether or not your win or lose.

Can you imagine how many lawsuits that would provoke.

It's a really, really stupid idea.

Meanwhile, on measures 66 and 67, Obama would be smart to reference to them tonight in his State of the Union address.

There is a widespread anger out there toward the banks and the corporations -- justifiably in my opinion. Obama has kowtowed to them instead.

Shakes head.

Dunc,

I wouldn't pay any attention to what your hear or read.

FYI, the way it works is if you sue somebody and you lose, then you pay their court costs. Trouble is life ain't fair.

It's not whether your case is fair, or who is right or wrong, its who has the MOST expensive lawyer.

So typically wants done is you sue, or be sued, and make sure you have the MORE expensive lawyer, in a civil case 90% of the time you'll win, and the other guy pays for your more expensive lawyer. Trouble in Orygun it takes about 4-6 years for a decent case to go to trial. Me guess that the during the discovery process that stuff here went public.

Judges are always a joke, as a rule of thumb, loser lawyers become judges, or 'lucky-lazy', Judges are deal makers, its been my experience that 90% of all trials are agreed back-door, the judge says 'give me this one and I'll give you the next one', ... The best lawyers ( that always win and charge the highest fee's ) are the ones who know how to manage the judges in the backroom. Then this all goes back to campaign contributions, but mainly to making everyones life easy. The court is only human, and they want to take the most easy route to the pig trough.

The best lawyer is one who has the most judge friends.

Going into court is NEVER about justice, or right-or-wrong, its about fucking the party with the deepest pockets.

I read a few years ago in the WSJ that 4 out of 5 of all 'good cases' still are found not-guilty in a lawsuit, its virtually impossible to get justice in a courtroom the odd's are stacked.

My guess with sawyer is that early on they figured they could win, and sued the 'bashers' on the NET ( TV BLOG ) to silence opposition and discredit and instill fear, figure this it made the cop shop look bad, so its in EVERYONE's interest in law-enforcement central oregon to OUT the big-mouths. Trouble is as we know everything was true.

These people probably spent a lot of money defending themselves, and as we all know Sawyer was using OPM for her defense and attack on opposition, not unlike 1031 where they used OPM ( stolen money ) for defense. But our legal system embraces fraud, because it is the most lucrative for lawyers.

At the end of the day a judge is just a lucky lawyer who go to retire early. All judges are BAR, and all BAR is a good old boyz club.

Is our system fucked? Yes.

I had to grin when bendbust recommended that Dunc buy from amazon.com. I do it all the time, but for Duncan's line of business, that's probably his #1 competitor.

I get the creative rush thing. I once had a jewelry designer friend. She would only design one earring because the first one was fun, the second one was work. She finally had her hair cut asymmetrically so she only showed one ear. That won't help much with your story, unless somehow it does.

Gary and my daughter think in the same space. I told her some of what he said and she said she was thinking almost exactly the same thing on most points and they came to her at about 8:00pm. Creepy. More work for me on rewrites but I agree.

Oh... and don't get me started on lawyers and lawsuits and the fairness of it all....

Good point, Buster. I didn't think of that.

I suspect that most high-income professionals employ tax accountants. If they don't they should.

Shaking mine too. Obama campaigned as a populist but I think that once he got to Washington he lost his nerve and surrounded himself with the same "experts" whose bad advice got the economy into the shitter.

Yes, but make sure if you buy from your local high school friends that its really machine with 250gb hard disk, and 2gb RAM, ... too often what your sold in the store for $999.99 is stripped bitch that will cost you another $500 to make it work correctly. 2gb of ram is minimum to make mac os 10.6 work correctly.

Felt like a little DEJA-VU today, .. you know excellent day, sunny xc-ski, ... Found this jewel on BEM's 2006 column, ... So fucking true about Dunc's Downtown Bend.

... I hope it brings tears to everyone's eyes. ...

I enjoyed the comments about the life-style businesses and housing boom in the Bend area. It took me back to the seventies in Durango Colorado where history repeated itself with influxes of Nuevo rich Texans doing exactly what you described. The prime properties in Aspen where gone and Durango was targeted by them for that life-style change.

There’s a rhythm that develops and about every three years (give or take a year) the businesses would turn over or fail and a new crop of transplants would move-in, thus creating a mini economy that remains today. Your comment, “But the businesses that serve mainly their owners' egos and lifestyle ambitions, well, they'll survive as long as their owners are willing to continue to pay for the privilege. “I add or bought out by another transplant resident.

It seems Bend will mirror this pattern with over inflated prices of businesses and housing.

OBAMA was bought owned, created and packaged in his early Chicago days by AIPAC. To suggest that we're all shocked that His chief of Staff, and Treasury man, and ... VP are all AIPAC men, and that he 100% supports LIKUD... It's just shocking. Who could have guessed?

Let's be honest here, dunc can probably buy his stock on amazon, for less than the wholesalers will sell it to him, based on economy of scale.

He's our Ned Flanders, just a good christian man supporting the local merchant. ... I have a lawyer friend who will promise not to CUM in your mouth if you let him put his dick in your mouth, ... yeh right ...

So let me understand Bend.

If a bank robber gets caught he can use stolen funds for hiring the best legal team in Bend?

If a kidnapper is caught he can use the ransom money to get out of jail.

If a 1031 Bend fraudster is caught he can use other peoples life savings for his defense, and hire the best law firm in the State.

If a realtor wife and her cop-shop hubby get caught running real estate investment pools and funneling cash to Mexico for 'investment', and they loose the life savings of half their "friends" in town, they can use this money to hire the best legal defense firm in Bend?

The answer is YES, ... OMERTA nobody cares where the money comes from, ... just that it keeps flowing through the law firms.

I love white collar crime its win-win for all, hell and if you claim a MADE-OFF you can even claim an insurance loss. So its win-win for everyone nobody is ever a loser in Bend.

Everything in life is a positive sum game. Isn't life in Bend wonderful. Thank god for our BULLETIN.

HBM,

I felt a moral obligation to reply to this. Most doc's, lawyer's, and 'professionals' who make this kind of money, e.g. over $250k ( now $125k ) defined as 'rich' in Orygun. They don't have fucking time to structure their tax planning.

I know too many lazy fucking CPA's that bitch about ALT-MIN tax, cuz basically once a high-income 'working person' makes over say $100k, they're pushed into ALT-MIN and BEND-FUCKED(TM). Trouble is to truly live the USA dream, e.g. and PAY no tax, you must structure your life.

You must have LLC's, you must have several businesses,... and essentially ALL tax gimmicks are DEFERRAL. I hope this shit ain't over your head, and I know your just a jealous liberal, who covets anyone who might have a better life than yourself.

Most CPA's ( accountants, ... tax preparers ) are 'losers', just my humble opinion, same-same for most lawyers. It's hard work and years to setup a business structure. For your typical surgeon at ST-CHARLES pulling in $300k on penile-implants he doesn't have time for rentals, and sub-chap-s LLC's, ... so essentially he's get's hit for the MAX on his tax.

The system is rigged people are too busy working.

Essentially the truth of 'money' is that MOST people are too busy working to get rich.

Again all wealth in our tax system is essentially deferral, eventually everyone PAY's. But to build a great fortune you must defer taxes early on, ... does every high earner do this thing? NO

Does every CPA know how to structure this thing? NO

Most CPA's, Doc's, and lawyers, live hand-to-mouth, paycheck-to-paycheck, ... just like everybody else...

Just correcting the fucking myth.

Like our dunc, how many fucking years have I begged him to buy his own store?? At the end of your working career this comic shop ain't worth shit, for resell, your only hope of walking with chips from the table when the game is over, ... is to be holding some real-estate. This is the fucking game, and then you can coast on renting that real-estate. But eventually the deferral wears out and you sell-out and government gets their taxes.... Everybody pays eventually.

love, buster.
