I write on this blog almost everyday, but it is more of a diary than an interactive thing. Even though I don't think I'm saying too many disgraceful things in my private diary, I still don't feel comfortable posting it.
I'll try harder to come up with some interesting subjects more often, if anyone is still coming here to check. I guess I just don't feel like I need to intrude myself upon the world. I have plenty of opinions, and I think I even have some business and writing insights, but I've also said most of them...more than once.
Anyway, just putting this out there until I can think of something more substantial to say.

Hi Duncan, every now and then I check in on your blog to see how you are doing and what you are up to. A far cry from ten years ago when black dog (am I remembering his name correctly) used to keep things lively and I made your blog a daily stop. Ah, the good old days, eh? I lived in Bend for 26 years, left 6 years ago for my native Canada, abandoned my fabulous mug making business for good and am thriving on our small homestead in rural BC. I was in Bend two years ago and literally did not recognize the place. We sold our home there in 2020 for quadruple what we paid in ‘96. The folks that bought it from us sold it for double the price they paid in less than four years. Crazy! I must say I wake up every morning thrilled to be in my native land. A breath of fresh air with mountain and lake views to go with my coffee. I had to leave the states because you guys seem to dislike immigrants so much…took me and my thick skull 3 decades to get the message but it finally got through! Good luck with retirement. I recently read in our media that the only place in the USA that has had an increase in Canadian tourists year over year was Portland, Oregon…up by 2%. Places like Vegas have lost droves of Canadian visitors. Nobody up here buys anything American if it can be avoided, sad to say. Wish that sanity would return but it appears you guys have a great deal of sorting out to do... good luck. Take care, cheers @mugmkr
