Yeah, I'v...Dude! Where you buying these from?

Yeah, I've been trying to up my orders mostly on the back of Vertigo graphic novels, which are also mostly what I read.

Not sure that Marvel's crossovers are any better, but they seem to have a hold on their audience.Duncan McGearyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02857388833850939721noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529575095156315075.post-29717193188249940842010-05-10T12:23:28.391-07:002010-05-10T12:23:28.391-07:00I have to say I'm seeing why with DC though. ...I have to say I'm seeing why with DC though. Marvel is a marketing machine. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that you are experiencing growth with them. They cross pollenate with movies, tv, and other media so well that I send people in all the time to pick up new books. I know some of them are picking them up.

But the other thing is I think DC has fallen off. The real hardcore geeks that read DC in the '90's with their horrible art teams but great writing brought some of us Marvel Zombies over. But in the end most of us ended up with Vertigo and a couple Wildstorm titles. DC's writing has really fallen off since the heavy hand of Dan DiDio came in as editor. Events are shoehorned with endings that make little sense. It is hard to jump in as a new reader to the dense stories DC has been printing lately that on appeal to the more zealous reader. Even Blackest Night was a bit of a letdown for me. They've got to step up their game. I'm hoping Geoff Johns steps up to the plate in his new role but we'll see.

I'm sure there are a whole ton of factors here but I know that these two certainly play into it. I hope that you make that margin up soon. Vertigo is still amazing. Sweet Tooth, The Unwritten, House of Secrets, Fables, DMZ, and Scalped. Those are must reads every month. These should be impossible to keep on the shelf. Well good luck my friend.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05389201670630881996noreply@blogger.com
