The first book is Empire in Black and Gold. Not exactly fantasy but close. I wonder if you'd like his somewhat satirical fantasy, Redemption's Blade, or Spiderlight. Guns of the Dawn is not fantasy but alternative historical fiction...well, I apologize for gushing but I would be really curious to hear what you thought! I have liked some Urban Fantasy. Tea with a Black Dragon, by MacAvoy; some of the Charles DeLint ("Yarrow"!); Tim Powers("Anubis Gates"); James Blaylock, that kind of thing.
